McFarlane DC Retro 6-inch Batman 1966 figures Wave 3 including new figures of Penguin & Catwoman

McFarlane's 3rd wave of the DC Retro 6-inch line based on the 1966 Batman series will introduce two new characters alongside two variants of figures released in Wave 1 and Wave 2.

The variants this time round are Batman and The Riddler, now in their boxing gear from the 1967 episode, 'Ring Around the Riddler'.

We will then welcome new figures, starting with Penguin as played by Burgess Meredith. He comes in his iconic black suit with his purple top hat and monocle. Because of DC's policy on weapons, he is missing his umbrella even though it is mentioned in the promotional blurb. He is joined by Catwoman, as played by Eartha Kitt, and as seen in the 3rd and final season.

All four figures are blister carded with 12 points of articulation and packed with two speech bubble accessories. They are Target Exlcuisves in the US, while here in the UK they are being distributed via Bandai UK and are now opening up for pre-orders at specialist stockists.

An arch-criminal known for his love of birds and his specialized high-tech umbrellas. The Penguin often pretended to be legitimate, and usually won the hearts of all Gothamites before he revealed his true motives. One of the four of Batman and Robin's greatest enemies, his wealth expands his arsenal to a level no other villains achieve, utilizing giant rocket umbrella vehicles and even a custom submarine.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
