McFarlane DC Retro Batman 1966 Wayne Manor Library Playset, Batboat, Two-Face, King Tut & Batman

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

Target in the US have today revealed five new McFarlane DC Retro releases from the Batman 1966 range. There are three new figures - all of which we knew about thanks to the NYCC 2022 reveals - these are King Tut, Two-Face, and Radioactive Batman.

We then have a new playset, the Wayne Manor Library playset that includes the desk, chair, Bat-phone, the Shakespeare Bust, and a sliding wall behind the bookcase to reveal the Bat-Pole.

The final piece is a new vehicle for the line, the Bat-Boat. This is a two-seater allowing two figures to drive the boat.

All of the releases can be pre-ordered in the US via Target and have an ETA of April 2023. We would expect the UK retailers to be offered these as usual via Bandai UK, the UK distributor - so watch out for pre-orders opening soon.

William Omaha McElroy, highly respected professor of Egyptology at Yale University, was struck in the head by a rock during a violent student protest. When he awoke, McElroy believed himself to be the legendary King Tutankhamun reincarnated, and Gotham City the ancient city of Thebes. From that moment, King Tut sought his rightful throne and city at any cost. Therefore, the Caped Crusaders, and any whom oppose him, are treacherous rebels.

Harvey Dent has led a deeply conflicted life. Possessing a split personality that veers between two extremes—good and evil—Dent goes by the name of Two-Face. Scarred by acid into outwardly becoming the monster he once hid away from the world, Two-Face has become a tragic figure and one of Batman’s most unpredictable and dangerous opponents.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
