NECA Jaws 50th Anniversary Ultimate Release of Matt Hooper (Amity Arrival) and Quint

Writer's picture: MephitsuMephitsu

Images have now been circulated on social media for the NECA Matt Hooper figure from Jaws as listed on the Bestbuy website earlier this week. The pictures visually confirm that Hooper will come with four different heads, a selection of gloved and ungloved hands, alternative arms for a jacketless look, duffel bag, scuba tank, spear, and crushed cup.

The images also show an Ultimate 7-inch scale Quint on the back of the box as 'available separately' which confirms this Jaws 50th Anniversary Series will include at least two of the three key characters. A Chief Brody figure is unlikely considering the issues that caused NECA's original 8-inch retro figure to get cancelled.

We await a formal announcement from NECA and details of the release date and availability. We've got these new figures listed over on our extensive NECA Collector Database

Celebrate 50 years of Jaws with NECA! Considered one of the greatest achievements in film, the classic 1975 Steven Spielberg thriller paved the way for what would become the summer blockbuster. The iconic character Matt Hooper, portrayed by Richard Dreyfuss, is now available as an ultimate action figure. Standing in 7-inch scale, the young oceanographer is equipped with multiple interchangeable heads, hands, and gloved hands. Plus, fishing hook, scuba tank, cup, crushed cup, shark dart, and duffel bag. He also features interchangeable arms for an alternative look in his denim jacket or sweater. Comes in collector-friendly window box packaging with opening front flap.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
