It is the final week of the Target Fall Geek Out event in the US, and with it has come a handful of new NECA pre-orders. We have known about the intention to release a black and white variant of the Universal Monsters Creature from the Black Lagoon for some time - and the Target event has provided the first look at the figure and packaging.
This is essentially a variant of the original coloured version and will feature three head sculpts and three pairs of hands. The packaging is in the Ultimate style with opening front cover and utilises the movie poster artwork in full colour.
The Creature is not a Target Exclusive, but instead is a First to Market arrangement. This means a wider release is incoming.
The debut of Universal’s 1954 film The Creature from the Black Lagoon took audiences deep into the Amazon! This 7” scale Ultimate action figure depicts the mysterious and terrifying Gill-man in extraordinary detail in classic silver screen black and white deco. It comes with three extra pairs of hands, and three interchangeable head sculpts (one with an articulated jaw), Display-friendly window box packaging with opening front flap.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
