New York Toy Fair 2025: NECA Jaws 50th Anniversary 'Game of Jaws'

Writer: MephitsuMephitsu

After years of waiting, we are getting a Bruce the shark from Jaws from NECA - just not the one we were perhaps expecting.

In an interesting move, the Shark from Jaws will be released as a Jaws 'fishing game' giving us a 15-inch long shark with spring-loaded jaw and inserted 'debris' which you need to fish out. The debris includes some movie-specific accessories like the Diver's Tank.

The game is obviously the key selling point here. But NECA has gone with a realistic look to the shark. At 1/10 scale, the 15 inch shark translates to circa 3.8m long - which is only half the size as the 7m shark in the movie. It may provide a display option alongside the incoming releases of Hooper and Quint in the 1/10 Ultimate Series.

Game of Jaws will be a May 2025 release. Its available through the NECA Store and at NECA stockists.

The Game of Jaws returns! Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jaws with a modern update to the classic 1975 game. Featuring state-of-the-art, detailed sculpting and paint applications, the infamous shark spans 15 inches in length and looks just like its movie counterpart. Get all the items out of the shark’s belly before the jaws snap down on the spear! Be sure to have a steady hand and not get too close to those deadly teeth! Includes over 15 different accessories to fish out of the beast’s belly, including an anchor, a boot, fish bones, a skull, a tire, a lantern, glove, and more. Fun for the whole family to enjoy or perfect to display with your JAWS collection! Some assembly required.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
