SDCC 2024: G.I. Joe Classified Series Cobra Commander 'Once a Man' Exclusive

IGN has run a new article on behalf of Hasbro showing off their 2024 SDCC exclusives.

The G.I. Joe Classified Series figure for Cobra Commander 'Once a Man' was name-dropped during the WonderCon G.I. Joe panel and it has now been confirmed as an SDCC exclusive for 2024. The figure features two head options, alternative hands, weaponry and a figure of Cobra Commander in the mutated snake form. It is packed into lenticular packaging with an opening front cover.

This year Hasbro's SDCC exclusives will be available in San Diego with registration to purchase made in advance through an SDCC Portal which will open on the 8th of July and will run for 10 days until the 18th. For those not attending, a number of exclusives will be sold after SDCC 2024 via Hasbro Pulse.

G.I. JOE CLASSIFIED SERIES #130, COBRA COMMANDER (ONCE A MAN)

(HASBRO | Ages 4 and Up | Approx. Retail Price: $39.99 | Available: Summer 2024)

New to the G.I. JOE Classified Series line, Cobra Commander (Once A Man) comes ready for adventure, with multiple points of articulation for high poseability. Inspired by the character’s mutated appearance in G.I. JOE: The Movie, this 6-inch action figure contains 9 character-inspired accessory pieces including 4 alternate hands, alternate helmeted head, cracked faceplate, dagger, backpack, and weapon accessory. Includes an additional figure of Cobra Commander degenerated and mutated into primitive snake form. A transparent sleeve guards a phenomenal lenticular image depicting the horrific fate of Cobra Commander. Inside, the windowed display showcases the figure, accessory loadout, & dynamic digital renders.

Look for other G.I. JOE figures and toys to build your roster of heroes and Cobra villains (each sold separately, subject to availability). Available exclusively at 2024 San Diego Comic-Con. Attendees can request a time slot to purchase Hasbro products at the Hasbro Booth (#3213) at the Hasbro Pulse Toy Store through the San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives Portal.

Limited quantities will be available to pre-order on HasbroPulse.com after the convention. While supplies last.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
