As expected, NECA pretty much went all in as SDCC 2024 got underway with a booth full of both previously announced releases, and a selection of new ones. We don't have pictures for everything yet but check out full coverage on The Fwoosh or Toyark.

If NECA follows form, there will be subsequent press releases for many of these and we will share these as they come through

In their horror series we got a better look at the Krampus figures. There was confirmation that both the previous Hannibal Lecter figures will be re-releases, with Lecter on his trolley on display. The Beetlejuice releases will include a new figure and an Inferno Room playset.

There are also new figures from Childs Play, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and a new Cheryl from The Evil Dead.

We have more Hammer Horror incoming and alongside the Christopher Lee Dracula was Peter Cushing as Van Helsing. There is also an Ardeth Bay figure from The Mummy.

There were a few odd ball reveals too with new Ultimate Sesame Street figures of Count, Bert, and Ernie and a Pee-Wee Herman figure. Iron Maiden's Eddie also featured with new versions of the band's mascot.

Alien fans can look forward to the new Xenomorph from Alien Romulas as well as an accessory set.

And of course, TMNT featured heavily with the new Shredder Throne on display and a set of movie 'Christmas' Turtles. Tatsu was also added to the display in day 2 confirming his release in the movie series.

There were also deep cuts in the Animated Series including Wyrm and Panda Khan among others.

The Archie TMNT comics will see figures released including Belly Bomb. And from the Mirage Comics, the new offerings included April O'Neil and Karai as Shredder.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
