SDCC 2024 Schedule of Events for Action Figure Fans

With SDCC fast approaching, we are collating the planned panels from across the SDCC event that will interest Action Figure Fans and Collectors.


It is unclear if any of the panels will be streamed. If not we will share news as it reaches us through Social Media and via the press releases from the companies involved. We will endeavor to credit those at SDCC who are providing the images.

Thursday 25th July


12.30pm (8.30pm UK) Todd McFarlane Spawn, Comics and More

Todd McFarlane gives an update on the Spawn movie, all upcoming comic projects, toys, and much more. Be the first with the inside scoop!


4.00pm (12.00am UK) Diamond Select Toys and Gentle Giant

Chuck Terceira (president), Joe Allard (designer), David Forrest (designer), and others discuss the work that goes into collectibles from DST and GG LTD, including Marvel, Star Wars, Invincible, The Walking Dead, Muppets, House of the Dragon, and more. Q&A moderated by Zach Oat (marketing supervisor). Win prizes for the best questions!


5.00pm (1.00am UK) G.I Joe Classified Panel (Hasbro)

The G.I. JOE development team presents a live launch of the new Classified Series HasLab. This behind-the-scenes look will also feature new product news, including never-before-heard stories, digital character renders, in-hand figure prototypes, pre-order launches, and more.


 

Friday 26th July


10.30am (6.30pm UK) McFarlane Toys Multiverse

Get an exclusive first look at the latest and greatest toys and collectibles from McFarlane Toys and Todd McFarlane himself! Explore exciting brands like DC Multiverse, Marvel, Bleach, Spawn, and so much more. Join the McFarlane Toys team, along with other panelists, who will provide an in-depth look at these highly anticipated products. Plus, there will be some thrilling surprises and giveaways you won’t want to miss!


12.30pm (8.30pm UK) Marvel Legends Panel (Hasbro)

Hasbro and Marvel product experts offer exciting news about Hasbro’s ever-popular Marvel Legends product line. Attendees will also get a sneak peek at upcoming items, followed by a Q&A for your burning Marvel Legends questions.


2.00pm (10.00pm UK) Star Wars Panel (Hasbro)

Members of the Hasbro Marketing & Design teams discuss the popular Hasbro Star Wars line, including the Black Series and The Vintage Collection. Attendees will get an in-depth look at Hasbro’s latest action figure offerings from throughout the saga. Word on the Holonet is there may also be a few surprises. May the Force be with you!


3.30pm (11.30pm) Toys of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Paramount discusses toys and action figures for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Be the first to see exclusive reveals for upcoming TMNT toys and celebrate 40 years of Turtles.


6.00pm (2.00am UK) Transformers (Hasbro)

The Hasbro Transformers Toy Development team takes you behind the scenes to unveil the latest character figures from across the iconic brand. Plus: a Q&A session filled with trivia and giveaways!


 

Saturday 27th July


12.30pm (8.30pm UK) Jazwares

Collectible connoisseur Jeremy Padawer debuts new collectibles from the Jazwares Vault, Pokémon, Squishmallows, Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron, Total Anime, AEW, and Hello Kitty and Friends. Expect the unexpected with epic brand updates from Jazwares panelists Jamie Sikorski, Aaron Margolin (Pokémon brand and design), Megan Holgate (Squishmallows marketing), Jordan Patick, Gihoon Song (Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron brand and design), Greg Mitchell, Daniel Jung (AEW brand), Selah Estrada, Ray Gordon (Total Anime brand), and Elena Wilson (Hello Kitty and Friends design).


5.30pm (1.00am UK) Playmates

Celebrating 40-year milestones for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Voltron and 70 years of Godzilla, Playmates' Jeff Trojan, Ray Geiman, Pat Linden, John Stelzer, Lydia Whitman, and Aidan Rutten (marketing and design leaders) will review the calendar of collectible figures and exclusives from those brands and more.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
