SDCC 2024: Super7 celebrates Dungeons & Dragons 50th Anniversary with new D&D Ultimates of Sheila the Thief, Tiamat and Vecna

Updated: Jul 26

Super7 has announced a celebration of 50 Years of Dungeons and Dragons with a full range of clothing and action figures that will debut at SDCC 2024. Among them are three new Ultimates 7-inch figures starting with an 'Invisible' variant of Sheila the Thief complete with three head options, extra hands, and a soft goods cloak of Invisibility.

We then have a new figure of Vecna who has two head sculpts, alternative hands, sword, dagger, and Book of VIle Darkness which actually slots into the figure's chest. And then we have a 19.5-inch long Ultimates Vinyl release of the dragon Tiamat.

The social media launch of these items confirms these new figures will be o display at the Super7 booth at SDCC from the 24th to the 28th of July and the figures can be pre-ordered at that point for SDCC attendees. It is understood that limited stock will then be available via Super7's website on the 29th of July.

His mortal body may have been destroyed, but Vecna’s malevolent spirit has lingered in non-corporeal form for untold millennia, waiting for a chance to be rereleased upon an unsuspecting world! This 7” scale, highly articulated Dungeons & Dragons ULTIMATES! Vecna figure is inspired by the 5th edition Dungeons Master’s Guide book, features intricate sculpt and premium paint detailing with a soft goods skirt, comes with multiple interchangeable heads and hands, as well as accessories including the Sword of Kas, the Afterthought, the Eye of Vecna, and the Book of Vile Darkness, which fits inside of the figure’s ribcage. Bring home the Vecna ULTIMATES! figure and hold this totem of darkness embodied, if you dare!

She is the Queen of Evil Dragons and as the most powerful creature in the realm, she’s feared by even the mighty Venger! At an imposing 15.6” tall, 19.6” long, and 19.7” wide, this retro-style Dungeons & Dragons ULTIMATES! Vinyl of Tiamat depicts the mighty five-headed dragon looking appropriately fearsome, featuring premium soft vinyl construction along with points of articulation at the hips, legs, wings, tail, and all five necks and heads. Tiamat is the pinnacle of majesty and might in the D&D universe, and this towering ULTIMATES! Vinyl figure will surely be the centerpiece of any Dungeons & Dragons collection!

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
