Star Trek Prodigy Holographic Captain Janeway, Star Trek Universe from Playmates

Writer: MephitsuMephitsu

Courtesy of Big Bad Toy Store, we now have our first look at the Holographic Captain Janeway figure Star Trek Prodigy, and part of the wider Playmates Star Trek Universe 5-inch line. The Prodigy figures, based on the 2021 animated Nickelodeon Series, were initially planned for a 2022 release - but have been pushed back to Spring 2023.

We can look forward to Captain Janeway in her Starfleet uniform alongside figures of Zero, Gwyndala, Jankom Pog, and Dal R'El with Murf. We also know that an accompanying figure of Rok-Tahk is also in the works.

The USS Protostar, from Prodgigy, is also coming in the Starship sector of the Playmates Star Trek Universe line - while a Prodigy Phaser and Tricorder are also planned. There are also a number of new figures planned for 2023/4 as seen at the London Toy Fair but these remain under an embargo.

Keep track of all the Star Trek Universe releases from Playmates at our Star Trek Universe Database which includes all the releases from the 2022 reboot of the line onwards.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
