Hasbro's Star Wars Ahsoka Fanstream Reveals including Black Series, Vintage Collection & Retro

Writer: MephitsuMephitsu

Hasbro marked the first full week of the Ahsoka series on Disney+ with a Fan First livestream at pm on the 29th of August. The event was focused on new Ahsoka products and involved reveals across the Black Series and The Vintage Collection.

We have already had sight of three Ahsoka series figures in the Black Series as revealed at SDCC 2023. While Hera appears to be slipping into a wave with Pre Vizsla and the new R2-D2, a full Ahsoka wave will precede these, and will include the #01 Ahsoka figure and that of Sabine Wren who is number #03 in the Ahsoka line. They are joined by four brand-new figures.

These include Ezra Bridger (Lothal) packed with his lightsaber and blaster and number #02 in the series. This is based on the holographic Ezra we see during episode 1 and his final season appearance from Rebels. We have Morgan Elsbeth #04, and her HK-87 Assassin Droid #05 - this being a revised version of the HK-87 released in The Mandalorian series.

The wave is concluded with a CHOPPER release. CHOPPER is a direct repack, but rather than putting him into the Ahsoka packaging he is given new Rebels packaging with a new number 08 deignation following on from the last Galaxy Collection Rebels release of Ahsoka herself from 2020. That means there are two identical CHOPPER figures at number 02 and number 08 of the Rebels series - Hasbro explained this as a way to get CHOPPER into the general release in the new Galaxy Collection packaging having previously been part of an exclusive wave.

Hasbro also previewed a new Huyang figure complete with his backpack and articulated rear arms. And a new figure is incoming of Marrok, with soft goods cloak and double-bladed light-saber. These two figures look to be part of the wave that also includes Hera Sydula as well as Pre Vizsla and the new R2-D2.

The Black Series can also look forward to other new figures with pipeline confirmations of Momaw Nadon (typo on the Hasbro slides) and a Target-exclusive set of R4-D4 and Pit Droids.

The Black Series premium role-play line will see a release of Sabine Wren's helmet. This is an Autumn 2024 release.

Moving to the Vintage Collection - and joining the previously announced Ahsoka and Sabine figures - are new releases of Morgan Elsbeth, the HK-87 Assassin Droid, and Hera Sydula. Morgan and HK-87 are Autumn 2023 releases, with Hera in Spring 2024.

The team also reiterated that if the HasLab Ghost reaches its full tier backing they will also release single figures of CHOPPER and Sabine on the mural backing card so collectors can add these to the HasLab releases or a full set of Rebels figures on the same backing card.

There were pipeline reveals for the Vintage collection including CHOPPER. a Deluxe Jango Fett, Rex from Bad Batch, Darth Vader from A New Hope, Stormtrooper, Luke X-Wing Pilot, and A New Hope Princess Leia. There will also be a 2-pack of Darth Revan and HK-87

There will be new Retro 3.75-inch releases inspired by the Disney+ Ahsoka series. The wave includes Ahsoka Tano with soft goods robes, Sabine Wren with a removable helmet, Hera Syndula, CHOPPER with a removable central leg, Morgan Elsbeth, HK-87 Droid, and Marrok. These are Autumn 2024 releases in the main line, but no pre-orders on these as yet.

About Me : As a child of the '70s and '80s I grew up in a golden age for action figures and in my youth bought and sold myself through collections of Star Wars, G.I. Joe (Action Force), and M.A.S.K. while also dabbling in He-Man, Transformers and Ghostbusters. Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. I launched The Mephitsu Archives in 2015 with a view of creating a UK-focused site or these figures where fans can pick up the latest action figure news, read reviews and get information on where to buy their figures and what is currently on store shelves. I hope I am delivering that to you guys...
